Description

Meet Hiroshi—not the samurai-warrior Hiroshi, nor the ramen-chef-extraordinaire Hiroshi. This Hiroshi is something far more intriguing: a retired salaryman from Osaka whose simple pleasures included baseball, heated arguments over the perfect crispiness of fried octopus balls, and religiously maintaining his pristine white 1994 Honda Acty Town.

Lovingly nicknamed “Dotonbori” after Osaka’s vibrant, neon-lit center, this Honda Acty spent decades expertly maneuvering the city’s bustling alleys and narrow roads, deftly dodging bicycles, crowds of salarymen, and wayward street-food carts. Equipped with Honda’s famously dependable Realtime 4WD, a silky-smooth 5-speed manual gearbox, and air conditioning so ice-cold it could chill Hiroshi’s favorite canned coffee within moments, Dotonbori faithfully accompanied Hiroshi through exactly 70,000 meticulously recorded kilometers.

After considerable soul-searching (and perhaps more than a few glasses of sake), Hiroshi finally entrusted Dotonbori to its second caretaker—a proud American enthusiast based in sunny California, eager to share the joys of Kei-truck ownership stateside. Now, after gently cruising around palm-lined boulevards and discovering that California offers disappointingly few street-food carts and far too many parking spaces, Dotonbori’s second owner has decided it's time for a new chapter.

Thus, this lovingly preserved piece of Osaka’s automotive charm is once again available, ready for a discerning third owner who truly appreciates its quirky heritage and meticulous maintenance history. As a consignment vehicle facilitated by Oiwa, Dotonbori now awaits someone who can offer it a home filled with adventure (and ideally, proper appreciation of fried octopus balls).

Will you be the one to continue Dotonbori’s proud tradition of pristine maintenance and quiet mischief? Hiroshi—and all of Osaka—will thank you.
